Transfers 12th – 18th June

High Press guide you through the latest ins and outs of the frankly ludicrous world of the Premier League transfer market.

Joao Pedro > Brighton (£30m)

Brighton have an uncanny ability to magic absolute superstars from somewhere beneath the sell-by date microwave curry in the reduced section. Mr Pedro however is costing them a fair whack by their standards and will equate to a club record transfer. The Brazilian arrives off the back of a decent season in the Championship with Watford, contributing 11 goals and four assists. He’s still got a lot to prove but will relish the chance to work with De Zerbi.

Mahmoud Dahoud > (Free)

Another incoming for the Seasiders is Syrian-German midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud. Dahoud has excelled at times for Dortmund, but injury and inconsistency has seen him gradually fall out of favour at the Westfalenstadion. He arrives on the South Coast hoping for a new lease of life under De Zerbi, but has big boots to fill in the form of the departed Mac Allister and soon to be departing Caicedo. Capped twice by Germany, he hasn’t represented his country in three years.

Dejan Kulusevski > Spurs (£25M)

After an absolutely barnstorming start for Tottenham, in which his contribution following his January transfer played a big part in their qualification for the Champions League, things have tailed off a bit for old Dejan. Having said that, the same is true of every Spurs player whose name isn’t Harry Kane. Last season’s return of two goals and seven assists was underwhelming, but regardless Kulusevski’s pace, strength and eye for goal mean he remains a hot prospect.
